Do you like to say No?

I have had a hectic last week or so and have lots of things I have been planning to do and have been slowly trying to work through them .

I have worked my way through an interesting book which has proved helpful in tasks this week. This book is 'Drama Games, for those who like to say No!' by Chris Johnston-who is co-directer of the Rideout Company I have previously blogged about.

This book is really clear, and sets out all the contents very easily and is very accessible to a wide audience.  It is split into sections and each section is based on a different focus that the games and exercises have. Such as Engagement,  Play, Collaboration, Skills, and Challenges.
In the explanation of each exercise it clearly states in what situations this exercise would be useful in, how many people are needed, objects that are needed and the age range which it is suitable for. So would be very easy for first time workshop planners to pick up some good tips.

At the end of the book there is a section on training for the facilitator. This section shows examples of role play exercises which the facilitator can practice with other leaders in preparation for obstacles they may have to overcome with difficult groups they may work with. Overall this is a very good read, and I have marked many of the pages with possible exercises I can use in my workshops.
